The building of the School of Law at the University of Chile, designed by architect Juan Martínez Gutiérrez, today exposes a set of values??associated with modern architectural heritage that deserve an Historic Landmark status. Through grants assigned by FONDART 2012, the
authors of the following article made??the case for its declaration. Here are the reflections decanted from work from a critical and comparative in relation to the architectural heritage built in Santiago, highlighting the eminent modern condition of the work, given both the functional, technical and constructive, spatial and aesthetic,as in the genesis of the project that overlaps with state and educational modernization, precisely in the new education law that sets the legal framework for the development of society.
